Studio Updates: New Café, Upcoming Shows
-by Rob Corrigan [18/10/09]
Some pretty substantial updates this week.
1. Our café project is almost completed; a few lights and we're good to go. Stay tuned for details on the space. We hope to host regular nights for spoken word/poetry, films, open mic, etc.
2. We will be hosting two "NOcase" shows during the time of the Halifax Pop Explosion, October 23rd and 24th. Both evening shows doors open at 7:30pm. Details can be found on the Facebook link:

3. We've added some absorptive material to the ceiling above drum position with stunning results. I will post photos from Cicada's drum session over the next few days.
4. Last, but not least- friend of the studio, Dwight D'Eon, has started his own mastering company: Spectrum Mastering. Operating out of the SoundMarket complex, he makes use of our finely-tuned mix room and his world-class set of ears to give your project the final polish it deserves.

The Mic Locker Is Getting A Little Bigger
-by Rob Corrigan [24/09/09]
A small studio update today.
We found two more Neumann KM184 small-diaphragm condenser microphones in a basket outside our studio door shivering in the cold. Come try these little fellas out, you'll be surprised by the depth and detail they bring out on acoustic guitars and drum overheads.
The stage has been constructed on our yet-to-be-named cafe/venue/black box. It gives you a very real feeling of being 5... maybe even 6 inches up in the air. If you're feeling brave, bring a guitar and see for yourself when we get this room up and running.
